I Have to Write a Paper
리포트를 써야 해

Amy: Wait… the psych paper is due this Friday?
Amy: 잠깐만… 심리학 리포트가 이번 주 금요일까지야?

Amy: I thought that was next week...
Amy: 다음 주인 줄 알았는데…

Mia: Amy? You okay?
Mia: 에이미? 괜찮아?

Amy: Not really. I forgot about the big paper. It’s due in three days.
Amy: 별로 안 괜찮아. 중요한 리포트를 잊어버리고 있었어. 3일 뒤가 마감이야.

Mia: The one about social media and mental health?
Mia: 소셜미디어와 정신 건강에 관한 거 말하는 거야?

Amy: Yeah. Five pages. And we can’t use Wikipedia or random websites.
Amy: 응. 5페이지짜리야. 그리고 위키피디아나 아무 웹사이트도 사용하면 안 돼.

Mia: So, you’ll need books or real research, right?
Mia: 그럼 책이나 믿을 만한 자료를 찾아야 하겠네?

Amy: Exactly. I guess I need to go to the library… but I have no idea where to start.
Amy: 맞아. 도서관에 가야 할 것 같아. 근데 어디서부터 시작해야 할지 모르겠어.

Mia: Just ask someone there. The library staff is really nice.
Mia: 그냥 거기 있는 사람한테 물어봐. 도서관 직원들 진짜 친절해.

Amy: I hope so. I feel kind of lost.
Amy: 그러길 바래. 뭔가 막막해.

Mia: When are you going?
Mia: 언제 갈 거야?

Amy: Right after lunch. I have a break before chemistry class.
Amy: 점심 먹고 바로. 화학 수업 전에 잠깐 시간이 있어.

Dylan: Hey, Amy. You look like you need a break.
Dylan: 안녕, 에이미. 좀 쉬어야 할 것처럼 보여.

Amy: I have a huge paper due. And I don’t even have a topic yet.
Amy: 중요한 리포트가 있어. 그런데 주제조차 아직 못 정했어.

Dylan: What’s it about?
Dylan: 주제가 뭐야?

Amy: How social media affects students' anxiety. I want to find something useful to write.
Amy: 소셜미디어가 학생들의 불안에 어떤 영향을 미치는지에 대한 거야. 쓸 만한 자료를 찾고 싶어.

Dylan: Sounds interesting. You’ll need some good sources.
Dylan: 흥미롭네. 좋은 자료가 필요하겠다.

Amy: Yeah, but I don’t know how to find them.
Amy: 맞아, 근데 어디서 찾아야 할지 모르겠어.

Dylan: Want me to walk with you to the library? I’m going there too.
Dylan: 도서관에 같이 가 줄까? 나도 거기 가려고 하거든.

Amy: Yes, please. I need backup.
Amy: 응, 제발. 지원군이 필요해.

Dylan: You’re not alone. Everyone struggles with these papers.
Dylan: 너만 그런 거 아니야. 다들 이런 리포트 힘들어해.

Amy: Okay… here goes nothing.
Amy: 좋아… 한번 해보자.

Dylan: Just ask for help if you get stuck. You’ve got this.
Dylan: 막히면 그냥 도움 요청해. 넌 할 수 있어.

Amy: If not, I’m blaming you.
Amy: 못 하면 너 탓할 거야.

Dylan: Deal. Good luck!
Dylan: 좋아. 행운을 빌어!

Amy: Let’s do this.
Amy: 해보자!

Can I Find This Book?
이 책을 찾을 수 있을까?

Amy: Okay… first, find the book.
Amy: 좋아… 먼저 책부터 찾아야지.

Amy: Let’s hope this is easy.
Amy: 쉽게 찾을 수 있었으면 좋겠다.

Amy: Let’s search… “social media and stress.”
Amy: 검색해보자… “소셜미디어와 스트레스.”

Amy: Whoa. That’s a lot… how do I know which one is right?
Amy: 와, 너무 많은데… 어떤 게 맞는지 어떻게 알지?

Amy: It says it’s on the third floor. But… what’s a “call number”?
Amy: 3층에 있다고 나오는데… 근데 “청구기호”가 뭐지?

Amy: Should I just wander upstairs? Or ask?
Amy: 그냥 위층으로 올라가볼까? 아니면 물어봐야 하나?

Amy: Hi, sorry… I’m kind of confused.
Amy: 안녕하세요, 죄송한데… 좀 헷갈려서요.

Librarian: No problem. How can I help?
Librarian: 괜찮아요. 어떻게 도와드릴까요?

Amy: I found a book, but I don’t know how to find it upstairs.
Amy: 책은 찾았는데, 위층에서 어떻게 찾는지 모르겠어요.

Librarian: Do you have the number?
Librarian: 청구번호 아세요?

Amy: Yes, it says something like “HM851…”
Amy: 네, “HM851…” 이렇게 되어 있어요.

Librarian: Great! That’s the shelf number. I’ll show you how it works.
Librarian: 좋아요! 그게 서가 번호예요. 어떻게 찾는지 알려드릴게요.

Amy: Thank you. I’ve never done this before.
Amy: 감사합니다. 이런 거 처음이에요.

Librarian: You’re not the only one. Happens all the time.
Librarian: 처음이신 분 많아요. 자주 있는 일이에요.

Librarian: These letters show the subject. Then the numbers help find the exact spot.
Librarian: 이 알파벳은 주제를 나타내고, 그 다음 숫자가 정확한 위치를 알려줘요.

Amy: Oh, so it’s like an address?
Amy: 아, 주소 같은 거군요?

Librarian: Exactly. Once you get used to it, it’s easy.
Librarian: 맞아요. 익숙해지면 정말 쉬워요.

Amy: I should’ve learned this earlier.
Amy: 진작에 배워둘 걸 그랬어요.

Librarian: Here we go. This is the book.
Librarian: 자, 여기 있어요. 이게 그 책이에요.

Amy: Wow… I thought I’d be searching all day.
Amy: 와… 하루 종일 찾아야 할 줄 알았는데요.

Librarian: Happy to help! Let me know if you need anything else.

Amy: I might. I still need some articles too.

Amy: Awesome. You’ve made this so much easier.

Amy: Seriously? Wrong password again?
Amy: 진짜야? 또 비밀번호 틀렸어?

Amy: Okay… try one more time.
Amy: 좋아… 한 번만 더 해보자.

Amy: Too many choices. Which one is actually useful?

Amy: 진짜 마지막 질문이에요. 출력은 어떻게 해요?

Librarian: Come on, I’ll help you.
Librarian: 이쪽으로 오세요, 도와드릴게요.

Amy: You’re seriously the best.
Amy: 진짜 최고세요.

Amy: You’ve saved my life today.
Amy: 오늘 완전 살려주셨어요.

Librarian: You’re doing great. Don’t give up.

Amy: Hi again. Just wanted to say thank you for all your help.
Amy: 또 인사드려요. 도와주셔서 정말 감사드리고 싶어서요.

Librarian: You’re very welcome! Did everything work out?
Librarian: 천만에요! 다 잘 됐나요?

Amy: Yes. I found the book, the articles, and even printed everything.
Amy: 네. 책도 찾고, 기사도 찾고, 출력까지 다 했어요.

Librarian: That’s awesome! Are you finished now?
Librarian: 멋지네요! 이제 다 끝난 건가요?

Amy: Almost. Just reviewing and fixing some grammar.
Amy: 거의요. 지금은 문법 좀 고치고 있어요.

Librarian: If you need help with that, we have writing tutors, too.
Librarian: 그것도 도움이 필요하면, 글쓰기 튜터도 있어요.

Amy: Good to know. You’ve been amazing today.

Amy: That actually went really well.

Amy: I got most of it done! The library staff was super helpful.
Amy: 거의 다 끝냈어! 도서관 직원분이 정말 많이 도와주셨어.

Mia: I might go next time I’m stuck.
Mia: 나도 다음에 막히면 가봐야겠다.

Amy: Do it. It’s not as scary as it seems.
Amy: 꼭 해봐. 생각보다 무섭지 않아.
